Apple has implemented a new option within Settings to enable or disable the microphone and headphone jack on an iPad or iPhone running on iOS 7 and up.  To set the microphone to "on" follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Select Privacy
  3. Then select Microphone
  4. Make sure SWRemote is set to on, which is represented by the color green

In addition, there are a few other settings that need to be enabled to ensure the swipers work in iOS7 up:

Go to Settings

Select General

Select Accessibility

Make sure that Mono Audio is set to off as seen above
Ensure Left-Right audio balance is in the center, as seen above.

Go back to settings and select Music

Set Volume Limit to off as seen above.

After you have verified these settings you can follow the steps found here to properly initialize the Shuttle Card with your device.

Please note that this setting does not exist prior to iOS7.
