There are a few possible causes to the map not showing up on the Step 1 - Dispatch screen, but they all have to do with not being able to reach Google Maps.

  1. This can be caused by not having an active internet connection when SWRemote was opened. The Google Maps API (that creates the map on Step 1 and 2, loads as soon as SWRemote is opened and will not load again even if connection is regained. This can be fixed by closing SWRemote through the Task Manager.
  2. Another cause of this issue is low connectivity while you're on the Step 1 -Dispatch screen. If you are working offline, have lost connection or the signal is weak, the map may not display properly. As soon as your connection is regained the map should load properly for you, however if not you may wish to close SWRemote.
  3. The final issue that can cause issues the map to not appear is Google Maps having a service interruption. If this is the case and you are on an iOS device you may still proceed to Step 2 and select Navigation. Otherwise, you will need to wait until the issue with Google Maps is fixed for the map to appear. 

There is no way to change the default map system for SWRemote. The navigation will always use the built in default and the Maps will always use Google Maps.
